November
8, 1999 (1:1) |
51.01% |
|
Current Situation:
Ceilidh ends up as the top appearer, with just over 300 appearances to her name. |
2 |
Joseph Page
("Joe") |
289 |
November
10, 1999 (1:3) |
48.49% |
|
Current Situation:
Joe ends as #2, with only Ceilidh above him. |
3 |
Alison Montgomery |
137 |
November
16, 1999 (1:7) |
22.99% |
|
Current Situation:
Alison becomes the third character to pass the 100 appearances
mark and finishes as #3. |
4 |
Phoebe Bradley
("Feeb") |
101 |
December
7, 1999 (1:22) |
16.95% |
|
Current Situation:
Phoebe just barely clears the century mark, and finishes as
#4. |
5 |
Ryan Aberdeen |
96 |
November
9, 1999 (1:2) |
16.11% |
|
Current Situation:
Poor Ryan. After being #3 and #4 for a long, long time, he falls just short of a hundred appearances at the end, in fifth place. |
6 |
Alan Gunderson |
88 |
November
11, 1999 (1:4) |
14.77% |
|
Current Situation:
Poor Alan, too. #3 for nearly a year before lack of panel time sent Ryan, then Phoebe, and finally Alison past him, leaving him as #6 at the end. |
7 |
Hildegarde Page ("Gar") |
59 |
March 28, 2000 (1:102) |
9.90% |
|
Current Situation:
Gar passed Deirdre for 7th place near the end, as she worked toward consoling Alison over her slightly broken worldview. We'll probably be seeing a decent amount more of her soon. |
8 |
Deirdre Bradley
("Deedee") |
57 |
November
3, 2000 (2:40) |
9.56% |
|
Current Situation:
Deedee dipped at the end to #8, but is still the only character introduced after the first year to finish in the top 10. |
9 |
Helene Richer |
49 |
November
10, 1999 (1:3) |
8.22% |
|
Current Situation:
Helene made only three appearances after early November 2001, so she ended up as #9. |
10 |
Iain |
25 |
September
6, 2000 (1:213) |
4.19% |
|
Current Situation:
The "suave" Australian finishes up the top ten, tied with Nancy. Not bad for a character introduced at the very end of Year 1 and disappeared near the end of Year 2. |
10 |
Nancy Kawasaki |
25 |
June
2, 2000 (1:150) |
4.19% |
|
Current Situation:
Nancy ends up just inside the top ten as she moved up into a tie with Iain. |
12 |
Phil Bradley |
24 |
February
15, 2001 (2:109) |
4.03% |
|
Current Situation:
The patriarch of the Bradley clan finishes just outside the top 10, just one appearance short of a three-way tie for tenth. |
13 |
Shrub |
23 |
November
15, 1999 (1:6) |
3.86% |
|
Current Situation:
After several requests, I agreed to put The Shrub on the list,
given the number of times it appears to play a support role
in concealing a character. As stealth, gossip, plots, and rumors
start coming into the open, watch for our friend the Shrub to
continue to play cover. But is that all this stealthy plant
is doing, or does it have an agenda of its own? |
14 |
James Page |
21 |
October
22, 2001 (3:26) |
3.52% |
|
Current Situation:
Well, Joe Daddy moves past Noelle into #13. He avoids a meeting
with Gar, gives Joe his phone number, and helps to crack Alison's
psychological outlook on life. Not bad for only 21 appearances. |
15 |
Noelle Bradley
("Nelly") |
19 |
August
29, 2000 (1:207) |
3.19% |
|
Current Situation:
Sure enough, as the plot wound back to the Bradley family, Noelle
returned along with it. This pint-sized hothead combines biting
comments with just enough naievite to get away with it. She'll
be around some more as the Bradlies try to sort out what's going
on. |
16 |
Erin |
16 |
February
26, 2002 (3:82) |
2.68% |
|
Current Situation:
Well, Erin looks to have made her exit, finally having achieved
closure with James Page, so she shouldn't be appearing much
more, except perhaps flashbacks, though a scene of Hildegarde,
Melissa, and Erin confronting James seems like a possiblity? |
17 |
Melissa |
12 |
April
26, 2000 (1:123) |
2.01% |
|
Current Situation:
Mrs. Page's sister finally makes a non-flashback appearance,
and quadruples her old count, bringing her up to #17 on the
chart. Resolution between the sisters over Gar's husband could
be an interesting sequence, though. |
18 |
Ghada Hassan |
11 |
January
13, 2000 (1:49) |
1.85% |
|
Current Situation:
Nearly tripling her appearance count at her farewell party,
we probably won't be seeing her again until graduation, if ever,
since she's now an alumna of AHS. |
19 |
Sarah Bradley |
10 |
February
13, 2001 (2:107) |
1.68% |
|
Current Situation:
The Bradley matriarch leapfrogs up six positions with her appearances
during the latest Bradley family story arc. Watch for her to
continue her climb when the story winds back to this family
of redheads. |
20 |
Maire MacFarlane |
9 |
November
26, 1999 (1:15) |
1.52% |
|
Current Situation:
Ceilidh's mother puts together enough one-shot appearances to
take #18, and she'll be around more as Ceilidh starts spending
time at home this summer. |
21 |
Pol MacFarlane |
8 |
December
20, 1999 (1:31) |
1.34% |
|
Current Situation:
Pol sits not far behind his wife at #21, and will probably appear
in the future much as she will: as needed. |
21 |
Ciaran MacFarlane |
8 |
December
20, 1999 (1:31) |
1.34% |
|
Current Situation:
Ah, Christmas; a time for family. And that means Ciaran's back
from University for a little while, to nettle and tease his
little sister, while she does the same to him. |
23 |
Roman |
6 |
October
8, 2001 (3:21) |
1.01% |
|
Current Situation:
Roman breaks his tie with Todd and Cecil, as he confronts Nancy plotting her revenge and ends up on the floor.
The question is, what will he do now? |
24 |
Todd |
5 |
September
27, 2000 (2:13) |
0.84% |
|
Current Situation:
The man who made Phoebe despise men in general, Todd's only
shown up in flashbacks so far, and except for them, the only
way we'll be seeing this Avalon alumnus in the future is if
Josh decides to pull some major plot twists out. |
24 |
Cecil MacFarlane
("Cat") |
5 |
November
26, 1999 (1:15) |
0.84% |
|
Current Situation:
The MacFarlane's family cat. He usually only shows up at Ceilidh's
times of greatest distress... Could he be a coping presence
for a tightly-wound teenager or is just an ordinary cat? |
24 |
Pascale |
5 |
October
11, 2000 (2:23) |
0.84% |
|
Current Situation:
With the publication of the yearbook, Pascale returned for a
strip, then retreated to obscurity again. If she's still editor
this year, though, she'll probably be around a few more times
before graduation. |
27 |
Mr. Corner |
4 |
December
1, 1999 (1:18) |
0.67% |
|
Current Situation:
The Chemistry teacher gained some panel time by being bribed
just before the student elections, but hasn't been seen since.
He's probably just hiding, thinking up the next Evil Chem Test
From Doom. |
27 |
That MC Chick |
4 |
June
2, 2000 (1:150) |
0.67% |
|
Current Situation:
The MC at the Student Council election speeches didn't show
up much, but could be back again to MC this year's elections.
And yes, I verified this name with Josh. |
27 |
Nick |
4 |
October
10, 2000 (2:22) |
0.67% |
|
Current Situation:
Nick, managing editor for the yearbook, languished on the only-one-appearance
list for more than seven months before appearing again for the
distribution of the books. He might be back again to work on
next year's book, but don't count on it. |
30 |
Mr. Hammond |
3 |
November
18, 1999 (1:9) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
The Math teacher hasn't been around in a while, but we'll likely
be seeing more of him once exams are coming up. |
30 |
Mark
("That Office Staff Guy") |
3 |
November
8, 1999 (1:1) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
The only other character in the first strip, he'll probably
not be around much, except to point out the dryer sheet on Ceilidh's
vest at the beginning of every semester. |
30 |
Female Extra #2 |
3 |
February
25, 2000 (1:80) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
A testament to accidental duplicates, this nameless girl put
snickering about Ceilidh, talking to Joe, and going to a hockey
game together, and landed a place on the list. |
30 |
Ahmed Rahman |
3 |
June
6, 2000 (1:150) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
Ahmed's been a candidate at the various student elections and
is famous for his incredibly long speeches. We probably won't
see much of him any more, as there aren't any more elections
to go through before graduation. |
30 |
Great Big Sea |
3 |
February
4, 2000 (1:65) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
Great Big Sea's put in a few cameo appearances, which qualifies
them for the list. Seeing as they've always appeared on the
first Friday of February, we could be seeing them again next
year. |
30 |
That MC Guy |
3 |
April
11, 2001 (2:148) |
0.50% |
|
Current Situation:
That MC Guy's position on the chart and image was lost in a
server crash when the backup was incredibly old. This was discovered
during a recount of everyone's appearances, so now his position
can be restored, at least. Unfortunately, we'll probably never
see him again, in much the same vein as That MC Chick. |
